Areas of Expertise
Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults
Children, adolescents, and young adults are forever in transition, and in those moments, therapy can be a useful space to process the changes they are experiencing and any accompanying challenges in school, at home, or among their peers. Dr. Aschkenasy is particularly well-versed in the challenges that youth who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or processing disorders may face. Whatever the challenge, Dr. Aschkenasy works to provide a space and structure that is developmentally appropriate for her patients and their caregivers.

Individual Adult Counseling
Dr. Aschkenasy has built her career around working with people who are experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, chronic illness, grief, and more generalized trauma. If you feel that any of these experiences are obstacles to your mood or functioning, Dr. Aschkenasy can work with you to put together a plan of treatment and support that sets you up for success.

Infertility Counseling
Issues with infertility -- transient, chronic, or permanent -- place many individuals and couples in new and uncomfortable territory. You may be experiencing social, medical, and financial pressures that you didn't expect when you began a hopeful journey towards parenthood. Because of these factors and so many more, you may be feeling anxious, sad, or even hopeless. All of these feelings are normal, but you don't need to face them alone. Infertility counseling services can help provide the advice, comfort and help you need to cope and make the best decisions possible for you.
Dr. Aschkenasy provides services for individuals, couples and partners. She also offers group treatment as well as private consultations for those contemplating donor sperm, donor egg, surrogacy, or adoption options as well as those addressing involuntary childlessness.
My Approach
My approach to therapy and counseling is deeply individualized. Our work together has to feel relevant and authentic to your experience, and responsive to the systems in your life -- from school to family to work -- that have brought you to this moment. My goal is to provide a space that honors all of this. Towards that end though, I pull from a variety of traditions (psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness training, etc), and work with you to create a plan that fits your specific needs and circumstances. Additionally, if you or your child are working with other professionals such as a psychiatrist, school counselor, occupational therapist, or some other type of provider, I aim to coordinate our efforts to align with and support the work happening in these other spaces.
